A Contract Clinical Psychologist (Health Promotion Branch) is mainly deployed to– (a) plan, implement and evaluate mental health-related programmes and studies; (b) disseminate health messages via various channels; (c) draft evaulation reports, meeting materials, work plans, etc.; (d) establish partnerships with various stakeholders in the community; and (e) perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers. (Remarks: May be required to work irregular hours.)

Candidates should have – (a) a Master degree in Clinical Psychology from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent Note (1); (b) a minimum of two years of relevant working experience; and (c) met the language proficiency requirements of “Level 1” results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the Common Recruitment Examination, or equivalent Note (2); and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English. (Remarks: Preference will be given to candidates who are members of the Register of Clinical Psychologists accredited by the Department of Health.)

Monthly salary at HK$61,865 – HK$82,330 depending on relevant qualification and experience, plus end-of-contract gratuity

(a) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently satisfactory standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. (b) Candidates appointed are eligible for 14 days’ paid annual leave. Other benefits such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave/ paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57).

The application period for the post of Contract Clinical Psychologist (Health Promotion Branch) is from 22 May 2026 (Friday) to 4 June 2026 (Thursday). Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.

Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.
