(a) To assist in the operation of the Home Affairs Department's temporary shelters in Community Halls and Community Centres when activated, including registration of shelter users, distributing meals, handling enquiries and complaints, patrolling the shelter and overseeing the work of contractual staff ; and
(b) To handle any other appropriate duties assigned

(b) Be able to speak fluent Cantonese and write Chinese;
(c) Be able to speak, read and write simple English;
(d) Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience.
薪酬及福利
Day Shift (0830-1730): $71.4 per hour
Night Shift (1730-0830 the next day): $90.9 per hour
5% MPF contribution, plus Employment Ordinance benefits (as appropriate)

(1) Application must be made on the form G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023), copies of which are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centre of Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk).
(2) The completed application form, together with copies of academic qualifications and work experience, should reach the address below by post or in person on or before the closing date. Please specify on the envelope "Application for the post of Shelter Assistant (Part-time)".
(3) Online application can also be made through the G.F.340 Online Application System of the Civil Service Bureau (https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/recruit/application/330.html). Applicants must submit copies of academic qualifications and work experience to the Central and Western District Office by email (docw@had.gov.hk) on or before the closing date for application. Please specify "Application for the post of Shelter Assistant (Part-time)" with the online application number on the email subject.
(4) For submission by post, the postmark date on the envelop will be regarded as the date of submission of application. Applicants should ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage is affixed before posting to avoid unsuccessful delivery of application. Any underpaid mail items will be returned or disposed of by the Hongkong Post. For submission in person, the application should reach the address below by 6:00 p.m. of the closing date.
(5) Late applications or applications which are incomplete or without the relevant supporting documents will not be considered.
(6) Applicants are required to provide their email addresses on the application forms. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation by email in about 8 to 12 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
聘用條款
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service needs and availability of resources of the Home Affairs Department as well as the satisfactory performance of candidates.
