Contract Public Relations Officer

A Contract Public Relations Officer is mainly deployed to – (a) organise public relations programmes, education projects, ceremonial campaigns, Open Days and other publicity activities of the Department; (b) prepare departmental publicity materials, such as leaflets, publications and souvenirs, etc.; (c) handle complaints and enquiries from the public; (d) assist in organising liaison activities for stakeholders; (e) perform related administrative work; and (f) carry out any other public relations duties as necessary. (Remarks: may be required to work irregular hours and outdoors.)

Candidates should – (a) have a bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong institution, majoring in marketing, public relations, language, communication, journalism or related fields, or equivalent [see Note (1)]; (b) have at least three years’ full-time post-qualification working experience in marketing, event management, corporate communications or public relations in sizeable corporations, Non-Government Organisations, public relations agents or government departments, preferably in publicity and public relations fields, including experience in organising large-scale events or activities; (c) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note (2)]; (d) have an excellent command of written Chinese and English, a fluent command of spoken Cantonese and English with a basic knowledge of Putonghua; (e) be detail-minded, able to work independently and under pressure; (f) have good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; and (g) be proficient in software applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe production software like Photoshop and Illustrator; knowledge and experience in graphic design, photo and video editing will be an advantage.
