Media Officer (Principal Official’s Office)

Applicants should [Note (a)]: (a) (i) have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Journalism, Communication, Multimedia, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Public Administration, or related disciplines from a local university, or equivalent, plus at least five years of full-time post-qualification experience in media, journalism, digital marketing, advertising, social media content creation or related fields; or (ii) have an accredited associate degree/higher diploma preferably in the disciplines detailed in (a)(i) above from a Hong Kong tertiary institution or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent, plus at least seven years of full-time post-qualification experience in the fields set out in (a)(i) above; (b) have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; with Level 2/above in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent [Note (b)]; (c) have good understanding of government system and public affairs; relevant working experience set out in (a) above in the Government is considered an advantage; (d) be well-versed with IT skills, social media and multimedia tools (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphic design and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects and Capcut); experience in motion graphics and animation creation is considered an advantage; (e) have good knowledge of social media management and experience in operating social media accounts/pages for business use (such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Xiaohongshu, Weibo, WeChat and their advertising platforms); (f) have hands-on experience in operating DSLR camera, creating and editing videos/images/motion graphics, writing captions and posts on social media platforms as well as using design software to produce high-quality visuals for blogs and social media posts; (g) stay updated on social media trends, algorithms, and best practices; (h) have effective data analysis and research skills, including the use of online resources; (i) demonstrate strong teamwork, communication and presentation skills as well as be proactive, mature, well-organised and detail-minded; and (j) be able to work in shifts and under tight deadlines, on long and irregular hours and on Public Holidays. Trade test and interview: (k) Eligible/shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a trade test and a selection interview.
